New Year events

The lack of official events in the square was partly because the authorities were concerned that actively encouraging more partygoers would cause overcrowding.

Trafalgar Square was used for portions of two sketches from the BBC comedy series Monty Python's Flying Circus. The sketch Olympic Hide and Seek also starts here.
